About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our JORN Sustainment Power & Systems Engineering team based at Edinburgh, SA, reporting to the team lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for the design and development of Electrical systems and equipment in-line with the company requirements in order to achieve the required business performance. The Electrical Engineer will also mentor junior members in the Power and System's team.

As an Electrical Engineer you will join a well-established team and be responsible for maintenance and upgrades for remote Surveillance Systems & Radar Systems. This position requires you to occasionally travel to remote Radar Sites to support the technical scoping activities and supervision of installation works.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct reviews and own development activities of Electrical Engineering Design Documentation
- Be involved in projects related renewable energy, high voltage system design, low voltage system design, Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems Design any many more.
- Be responsible to managing external design projects
- Develop and apply electrical knowledge of the system, subsystems and units to understand the operation and requirements of the current system variants.
- Assessing risk and proposing solutions to mitigate any identified risk
- Work along with broader teams to ensure project goals are achieved
- Undertake any other task as required by the engineering team
About YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Electronics Engineering or similar
- Be experienced Electrical Engineering with a preferred background in Radar Frequency or similar technologies
- Have a good understanding of requirements analysis, design, verification and other systems engineering principles
- Experience in developing detailed engineering work packages
- Previous work experience as an electrician with understanding of Technical Regulatory Framework is desirable
