The role:
We are looking for an Electrical Estimator for substation tenders.
Join us in either our Sydney or Adelaide office!
• Prepare comprehensive and compelling tender submissions, including technical proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand high voltage electrical system requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather the necessary information and documentation required for tender submissions.
• Introduction and implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance, and processes
• Prepare Tender Packages to release to suppliers and subcontractors as Requests for Quotation.
• Technical and Commercial review of the Requests for Quotation including meeting with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Evaluate project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them in tender submissions.
• Ensure all tender submissions adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates, considering materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Liaise with the scheduler and provide input in the elaboration of the project programs.
• Assist in contract negotiations with clients to secure project awards.
• Maintain accurate records of all tender-related documents, communications, and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in the tendering process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (desirable but not required)
• Proven experience in tendering and bidding processes within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
