CSA Mine is one of Australia’s longest operating copper mines with a history stretching back almost 150 years. At 1.9 kilometers deep, CSA is the second deepest copper mine in Australia and the third highest copper grade in the world. Located near the NSW town of Cobar, CSA Mine employs around 550 people and produces approximately 40,000 tonnes of copper concentrate per year. The ore is mined and processed on site and then transported by rail 700km to the Port of Newcastle for export. CSA Mine was acquired by Metals Acquisition Limited in June 2023.
Job Description
CSA Mine is seeking an experienced Electrical Leading Hand to become an integral part of our Underground Electrical team. This role places you right in the heart of one of the world’s most acclaimed mining areas, which boasts the nations second-highest grade copper mine. Your contributions will be key in maintaining the exceptional standards of this globally renowned mining region.
In this role you will be responsible for:

• Supervising the maintenance and repairs of underground electrical equipment in the underground environment (winding systems, crushing, dewatering, ventilation, refrigeration, and site services)
• Ensuring compliance with the CSA asset management framework which outlines the procedures and standards for managing and maintaining equipment
• Use of the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage the electrical maintenance of all underground assets that fall under the COUGEM responsibility in SAP, tracking work orders completion (TECO/MCMP), and monitoring the status of assets performance
• In collaboration with the Electrical Supervisor, managing a team of electrical tradespeople and apprentices and providing training and guidance where always needed and ensuring adequate coverage onsite
• Overseeing safety and ensuring that all electrical equipment is operating safely and efficiently

Qualifications
About you:

• 5+ years Underground Mining Electrical experience (preferred)
• Relevant Electrical Trade Certificate
• Current NSW Electrical Licence
• Current manual Australian Driver’s Licence
• Strong understanding of asset management framework and how to apply it in practice
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience managing terms and providing training and guidance
• Experience with SAP

Additional Information
Conditions:
This position is offered on a residential or drive in drive out (DIDO) or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane on an 7/7 roster. If residential is the preferred commute option relocation costs and a housing subsidy will be provided to the successful candidate to assist in relocating to Cobar. Candidates interested in the DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependants.

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions.
