The Electrical Maintainer is responsible for the maintenance and operation of fixed and mobile plant equipment to ensure they are available as required to satisfy the production schedule of the Karara Mining TSF (Tailings Stacking Facility) contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for communicating with Leading Hands to ensure maintenance schedules are carried out as per work order requirements and to appropriate standards
- Carry out allotted tasks as appointed by Shift Leading Hand within scope of training, VOC’s (Verification of Competency) and abilities
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and provide documentation as required to meet HSE, MSIA (Mine safety inspection act) and client contract requirements
- Inspection of plant, both fixed and mobile, to identify defects as per set inspection schedules
- Inform Leading Hand of any issues pertaining to plant maintenance and / or operation
- Conducting pre-start checks on all equipment prior to its use
- Completion of plant electrical repairs and plant operation as required
- Use of two way radios in a professional manner, adhering to Karara radio protocols
- Following and implementing Integrated Management System procedures and work instructions
- Ensure appropriate records and paperwork are completed and records are submitted to the site management team in a timely manner
- Operation of mobile plant ensuring VOC prior
- Other duties as required.
- Working with various mobile/fixed plant maintenance professionals with over 100 years’ experience combined.

- Permanent Rate $59ph - $63ph + 11% Super + Leave entitlements | Casual Rate $72ph - $76ph + 11% Super.

- Trade Qualifications - Electrical Fitter with 5 years post trade electrical experience (mining related)
- Current HR class driver’s license
- Competency in skid steer operation
- EWP qualification.
- HV (High Voltage) Switching qualified preferred
- PLC operation and diagnostics
- SME (Surface Mining Equipment) operation and maintenance experience desirable.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
