THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opening for a highly motivated Electrical Site Manager to join our Projects team in Brisbane. Reporting to the General Manager of Energy your day will fly as you ensure the ongoing delivery of our “Energy” related projects on multiple sites throughout Brisbane Metro and surrounding regions.
Use your strengths as an experienced Site Manager working in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality and timely renewable energy projects to our clients. The projects will range from EV charging stations, solar power and switchboard upgrades.
You will be responsible for all on-site construction activities including the coordination of multiple trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site delivery of materials. Your communication skills and ability to negotiate with trades, liaise with the greater projects team both internal and external stakeholders, including project coordinators and finance, will assist you in securing this role.
You are commercially driven and yet will not take risks when it comes to safety and procedures. You are across the importance of completing appropriate client paperwork and maintaining compliance within your sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all inductions are completed by the site team prior to the commencement of works.
- Complete toolbox talks monthly.
- Lead and coordinate all site activities for the electrical team and related trades – including reviewing rostering, scheduling, overtime and fatigue management
- Complete ongoing site risk assessments and communicate any concerns to the WH&S team
- Order and ensure materials are site-appropriate, sourced responsibly and approved by procurement.
- Review and dispose of waste as per Modus Policies
- Coordinate with the Projects team to ensure that the delivery of projects is on time and to budget.
- Review and revise timelines and schedules as required, and communicate to stakeholders.
- Provide variations if and when required, and work with the estimator when required.
- Ensure compliance with site requirements and company procedures, including managing of health and safety on site.
- Identify and solve any problems in a timely way.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 5 years' experience as an Electrical Site Manager or Leading Hand Electrician
- Valid Electrical licence
- Proven experience working on construction and petroleum sites (advantage)
- Proven track record of managing on-site safety
- Experience in managing project delivery timelines and excellent attention to detail
- A high level of organisational skills, and a respected leader
- Experience using technology and comfortable with different software applications
- Understanding of WH&S legislation
- Approachable leader, can-do attitude, and ability to understand the wider picture
