This company has historically managed building maintenance, surveying, engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, program management & property services for the QLD Government. They are now looking to appoint a trade qualified electrician who is eager to take a step into more of a supervisory role to oversee and review various product installations, and repairs while ensuring quality control to AS/NZS standards.
Position:
To be successful in this role you will have recent experience working as an Electrician:
- You will assess and then report maintenance requests to the trades staff on a daily basis.
- Your place of work is the Depot, plus any required site and project visits (company vehicle provided).
- You will need to be computer literate as reporting and communication is an essential part of your job.
- Inspecting electrical installations to validate compliance with AS/NZS Standards, Contract Documentation, Specifications, and standard of workmanship.
- Undertake inspection services including tenancy management services and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
- Ensure application of safety management system.
- Inspections will be carried out for Smoke Alarm installations in Government owned houses
- Inspections for switchboards, sub-circuits, and electrical reticulation systems in DET schools, and LED lighting installations in DET schools.
- 38-40 hours a week and you will receive $56.62 ph + superannuation.
- Ideally possess 3-5+ years of recent post-trade experience as an Electrician
- Electrical work licence
- Class drivers licence
- White/blue card
- Blue Card – working with children an advantage
- Work with the electrical and mechanical team, supervise field staff and contractors
- Quoting and Tendering including delivery of works
- Provide technical advice to stakeholders
- Must have a thorough understanding of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), and the Electrical Safety Act, Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
- Must be able to pass a criminal history check
