A consortium between Gamuda Australia and Laing O’Rourke has been awarded a contract to start tunnelling on the Sydney Metro West project.
With tunnelling works well underway, the Gamuda Australia Laing O’Rourke Consortium is looking for a skilled Electrical Supervisor to deliver a variety of electrical works across mined tunnel activities.
About the role
- Daily scheduling and supervising of electrical activities and tasks, ensuring the safety and compliance of the site.
- Ensure that quality of works performed by subcontractors or general workers are always met.
- Assist in in work program planning and monitor the site work progress by allocating appropriate resources or manpower.
- Ensure all staff and workers are properly inducted and trained in line with their Safe Work Method Statements.
- Deliver pre-start meetings and toolbox talks on safety management and critical activities planned for the area of work.
Your skills and experience
- Proven experience Supervising electrical works on Tier 1 projects, tunnelling specific experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability d
- to collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team.
- Strong understanding of programme management, deadlines, and budget controls.
- Ability to drive a positive Safety culture.
Construction includes the delivery of 9 kilometers of twin, metro rail tunnels between Westmead and Sydney Olympic Park; excavation of new station boxes at Westmead and Parramatta; earthworks, utilities and connecting tunnels for a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde; a precast concrete segment factory at Eastern Creek; and a services facility, crossover structure and excavation to support tunnelling operations at Rosehill.
