About your new role:
As an Electrical Trades Assistant, you will be responsible for various duties such as installation of steel structures and equipment in a substation environment, electro-mechanical work such as Unistrut installation, cable tray and cabling support installations, site preparation, and transport of materials at both the job site and to/from different job sites.
You will also operate equipment such as slew and non-slew cranes, telehandlers, cable winching equipment, hydraulic cable stands along with many other specialised pieces of equipment to facilitate the delivery of Yurika projects.
You can work independently and autonomously to ensure that your assigned activities are performed to meet safety, environmental, and legal responsibilities under the required scope of work and client expectations. You will be responsible for the effective planning and execution of assigned activities to meet project requirements.
Additionally, you will be required to operate vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and appropriately to project requirements consistent with competencies held and being acquired. You will also assess material delivery compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
The position has been evaluated as Power Worker Four (PW4). The remuneration for your new role is from $81,610 plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.

You have demonstrated ability to operate vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and effectively, using cranes and winches in compliance with the Traffic Act, Transport Regulations, and any other relevant legislative or compliance requirements.
Ideally, you will hold a HR driver’s licence and the qualifications below (or the ability to acquire):
- High Risk Work Licences:
- 60 tonne capacity (C6)
- Dogger (DG)
- Basic Rigging Work (RB)
- Conduct telescopic materials handler operations.
