We are looking for a qualified Electrician to Safely and effectively lead the team to perform planned/unscheduled/breakdown electrical maintenance and installation tasks.To minimise equipment downtime and reduce impact on mine operations all the while ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained.Reporting to the Underground Electrical Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and exceptional communication skills. The roster for this role is 7 on 7 off Day Shift.The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Electrical inspections;
- Installations and upgrades to GFM LV and HV networks;
- Planning and Scoping on all installation jobs on a weekly basis
- Provide input into Maintenance Schedule creation
- Fault finding and trouble-shooting electrical issues and breakdowns
- Supporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppages
- Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace
- Manage and maintain friendly and professional relationships with clients, staff & management
- Coaching and supporting electrical workers to improve their process knowledge and skills
- Leading the crew with limited supervision
- Ability to motivate and lead others by example
- Assist the supervisor by acting in a leadership capacity
- A valid Queensland Electrical license is mandatory for this role;
- HVIA Competency would be advantageous
- Ability to think logically and be determined to work towards finding; favourable solutions and outcomes regarding plant/ safety improvements
- Comply with company policies and procedures;
- Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills;
- Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail;
- Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure;
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Value continuous improvement, exceptional communication skills and work within a team with a strong focus on safety
- Willingness and ability to learn new processes;
- Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in surface or underground mining or the electrical utilities industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
