Qualifications & experience
- Electrical Workers License
- White Card
- Current WA driver’s license
- Experience with control circuits and switchboard modifications/manufacturing
- Experience in fault finding and testing
- 1 Years' experience as an electrician
Desirable Skills
- Forklift Licence
- Current First Aid certification
Tasks & responsibilities
- Installation of electrical equipment, cabling and wiring in accordance with AS/NZ3000 and the manufacturer’s recommendations
- Perform functional checks
- Install electrical equipment such as motor starters, controller, switchgears, switchboards, busbars, transformers, and panel control
- Locate and repair faults in electrical installations and equipment
- Identify different types of wires and cables
- Carry out mechanical fitting and assembling works relevant to heavy current equipment, and machine or fabricate parts for such equipment
- Install meters, instruments and relays
- Correctly use and maintain the tools of the trade including power tools, test equipment and measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring and circuit diagrams
- Correctly instruct and supervise an apprentice assigned to you to ensure safety and quality of work
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area
- Carry out duties as instructed by supervisor
- Communicate material requirements
- Track job progress through to completion
- Suitable candidate should be self-motivated and capable of working on their own where required
- Be flexible and willing to learn.
