This is an opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Electronic Hardware Engineer to join the engineering team of a high tech company who is leading the transport industry with their innovative products. DTI prides itself on its, “it just works” reputation.
You will joining a skilled and agile development team to engage in both Project Engineering and Product Design , to develop the next generation of products in DTI’s portfolio. There are exciting changes in the transport industry as the sector strives to be more inclusive, and to offer higher levels of technology to its passengers; This is a rare opportunity for the right person to be involved that journey.
You will be involved in all aspects of engineering for both products and projects including -
- Work in a manner that is safe and in accordance with OH&S requirements.
- Be at the forefront of Project Engineering activities with system designs, requirements traceability and documentation.
- Conduct Engineering Investigations, including root cause analysis, and follow through with Engineering Reports and Engineering Change documentation in order to improve the quality of DTI products while focusing on the customer experience.
- Design hardware that meets rail industry standards, EMC standards, safety standards and Ease of Manufacture.
- Design hardware with a high focus on quality and reliability, with a view to achieving high manufacturing yields and low product returns.
- Be involved in design verification testing of new developments including EMC and environmental testing.
- Be involved with the design of Electronic Hardware for new products as well as overcoming obsolescence issues with current products.
- Perform Production Engineering tasks, ensuring that manufacturing documentation is correct, up to date, and distributed.
- Producing support documentation as needed by different departments to enable, among other things, service of DTI’s equipment.
- You will be based in the Perth office with occasional on-site work to support projects.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to put together a well written report will be viewed favourably.
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving and fault finding.
- A “can do” attitude that focuses on finding solutions.
- You must have ‘safe working’ mindset.
- You must be a team player.
- Be familiar with Altium with experience in PCB design.
- Degree Qualified in either Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering
