ABOUT THE ROLE
The Electronic Repair Technician will facilitate the effective and efficient repair of failed equipment at the National Repair and Calibration Centre (NRCC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct equipment repairs to component level
  • Ensure that the asset management system is correctly updated in a timely manner indicating the status of all faulty equipment, status of ordered parts - date ordered, supplier & ETA.
  • Ensure accurate recording of parts, materials used, and labour invested as well as completion of closing data on repairs.
  • Assist field teams with remote and onsite repairs, modifications, upgrades and technical troubleshooting
  • Research and develop component replacements for obsolete or non-supported components
  • Provide reports on asset movements, repairs completed and issues affecting timely repairs of BAI equipment.
  • Provide regular and constructive feedback to the NRCC team leader
  • Assist with freighting and logistics and equipment calibration when required
  • Assist with maintaining the NRCC in a clean efficient manner to ensure all operational and HSE requirements are met. Manage the sites asset and parts locations keeping the store's inventories accurate and storage areas neat and clean

ABOUT YOU

  • High degree of competency level repairs including advanced soldering techniques
  • Exceptional hand skills for SMD repairs
  • Ability to determine circuit/module function without schematic diagrams
  • Knowledge of test equipment required for the repair and testing of modern broadcast equipment
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Electronic Repair tickets and database management systems
  • Limited Electrical or full Electrical Licence
