Sphere Drones is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in assembling, testing, and repairing electronic components and systems, contributing to the development and maintenance of our innovative drone technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, including the assembly of Nero PCBs and HubX Electrical Systems, under the guidance of our experienced Hardware Manager.

Electronics Technician Responsibilities

  • Assemble and solder SMD components on PCBs, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting to diagnose and fix issues with PCBs and electronic systems.
  • Work on the assembly of electrical systems, including PCB assembly, portable solar system cabling, DC power cabling and control hardware, RF and data cabling.
  • Repair and maintain a variety of electronic devices, including two-way radios and drones, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Handle the setup and maintenance of data racks, power compartments, and motherboards, following industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product designs based on testing feedback and troubleshooting outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repair and maintenance work performed, contributing to the development of maintenance schedules and inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electronic assembly, soldering SMD components, and electrical testing/troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with PCB assembly processes and electronic repair techniques.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and components, including DC power cabling, RF and data cabling.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to document processes and findings clearly.
