We are currently seeking outstanding casual ELICOS Teachers to join our dedicated team at our Sydney City campus to deliver Junior Programs.
This Role
Deliver English language lessons for young learners, aged 12 – 17 years old during the morning and then supervise pre-planned and organised afternoon activities in the afternoon. Teachers work from a syllabus with lessons already planned with an itinerary of afternoon activities. Casual teaching positions are available full-time or part time. Classes begin at 9am and finish at 3 - 4pm depending on the afternoon activity for the day. Position could also suit current evening ELICOS teachers looking for a bit of extra work through the winter period.

In this role you will
- Deliver English language lessons for students for whom English is a second language, in line with the program’s syllabus.
- Deliver lessons at the Sydney campus and supervise afternoon activities – visiting a number of popular tourist attractions in the city area.
- Keep detailed and up-to-date records of each lesson and session.
- Start and finish each lesson on time.
- Complete all the regulatory administration duties required by ESOL National Code of Practice, including attendance and program monitoring.
- Uphold duty of care protocols in dealing with under 18 students.
- Adopt a neat and cooperative approach to classroom and staffroom organisation and administration.
- Take work-related text messages within work hours, in and outside the staffroom.
- Comply with all policies and practices of the college.
- Other administrative and housekeeping duties as required by the Head Teachers, monitored by the DoS
What you'll need to succeed
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree.
- Recognised and current TESOL Qualifications (e.g. CELTA)
- Must hold a valid Working With Children Check
- Desirable but not essential; Post Graduate Primary or Secondary education qualifications.
- Experience teaching English to international students or students with a first language other than English.
- Experience teaching students aged under 18 years old.
- Modern teaching approach and ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Strong relationship and leadership skills; able to interact across all levels of the business in a highly professional manner.
- Excellent customer service and strong people management skills.
- Strong ICT skills and willingness to grow professionally in this area.
