What You Will Be Doing
The Emergency Department Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug (Crisis Hub) Nurse Practitioner provides clinical leadership, and holistic, patient centred care from admission through to discharge from the Emergency Department (ED) into the Outreach Stream. Based around the key principles of Clinical Practice, Leadership, Education & Research, the Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the ED MH & AOD (Crisis Hub) multidisciplinary team, demonstrating adaptability, resilience in caring for patients and their families in a dynamic environment.
The Nurse Practitioner works competently within their scope of practice to deliver evidence based, and person centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with Nurse Practitioner endorsement
• Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
• Post graduate qualifications in Mental Health and additional qualifications in AOD
• Current Prescriber Number
• Extensive experience in the MH & AOD field including acute in-patient services and/or community Mental Health care.
• Proven ability in the management of patients with a with a major mental illness and AOD use and in techniques of assessment, crisis intervention, and counselling and psychosocial rehabilitation
• Enhanced knowledge of AOD

*Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
