The Location:
Our client is situated on one of Australia's most beautiful coastal locations with idyllic tropical islands on your door step and a relaxed way of life. This is a large regional city with a local population of over 60,000 and a regional population of over 120,000. The Hospital:
The hospital has recently enjoyed a major $408 Million overhaul and expansion doubling the number of beds to over 300 and increasing the size by 40,000m2 including a new Emergency Department. This is now a state of the art fully modern hospital and one of Australia's largest regional healthcare facilities.
The hospital is also accredited for training with a number of the colleges and provides the following specialist services to the local community:
ED, O&G, Paeds, Orthopaedics, Anaesthetics, ICU, Coronary care, Psychiatry, Aged Care, Renal Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Palliative Care & Day Surgery.
The hospital also operates the following clinics: Dermatology, Oncology, Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical, Neurology, Liver, Diabetic, Urology, Surgical, Medical, Renal, Pacemaker, Cardiac, Haematology, Ophthalmology & Wound Management and is also closely affiliated to the local and regional medical school so academic opportunities may be available.
The Role:
You will work within a multidisciplinary team environment, contributing to the provision of high standard clinical services to patients of the Health Service. As the ED PHO, you will be responsible for managing the care of all patients in consultation with the Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. In this key role, you will be actively involved in continuous Quality Improvement activities, as well as participate in continuing education activities. You will also be given the opportunity to work in the other areas of the hospital, namely anaesthetics and medical ward whilst under appropriate supervision.
The Requirements:
To apply you will need to have completed one of the following you should hold current conditional or general registration with AHPRA and have at least 12 months recent experience working within Emergency Medicine.
