The Role:

The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for cultivating and delivering Lovisa’s Employee Relations strategy, function and service across the business. The role is entrusted with being a subject matter expert in Employee Relations, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, as well as managing matters end-to-end.

The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for:

  • Development and implementation of an Employee Relations strategy across Lovisa’s existing and new APAC markets. This may include managing a team as required.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and working with internal and external stakeholders towards best practice Employee Relations practice and solutions.
  • Providing advice to internal stakeholders on workplace and safety policy, regulatory compliance and emerging Employee Relations trends.
  • Effectively managing processes and investigations in response to performance management, misconduct, absenteeism, conflict, discrimination, harassment, bullying and other workplace complaints through end-to-end case management and/or advice.
  • Coaching and supporting the People & Talent Team and management stakeholders to achieve pragmatic Employee Relations solutions, including by way of proactive learning and development.
  • Managing the end to end enterprise bargaining process (with external support as required).
  • Managing the business’s expansion into new markets from an Employee Relations perspective, including contract terms, payroll work rules and regulatory compliance (with external support where necessary).
  • Supporting and facilitating Lovisa’s relationship with regulatory and union bodies, with a view to balancing and promoting Lovisa’s business objectives.
  • Managing workplace litigation matters, including liaising with external advisors, collating information and preparing necessary documents.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and external advisors and/or authorities to manage workers’ compensation matters.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and external advisors and/or authorities to manage immigration and internal relocation matters.
  • Taking ownership of cyclical, administrative and reporting tasks in the Employee Relations space.
  • Mitigating business risk by keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance in markets the business operates, with a specific focus on the APAC region.
  • Identifying ongoing opportunities to support Lovisa in delivering superior Employee Relations outcomes for Lovisa.
  • Supporting the People and Talent Leadership Team with ad hoc tasks/projects as may be required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in human resources with a focus on Employee Relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential Employee Relations issues.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • The Employee Relations Manager plays a crucial role in creating a positive workplace environment, fostering effective communication, and ensuring that the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
