Council’s People Branch is recruiting for the position of Employee Relations Officer.
Position Objectives
The officer will be responsible for:
- Providing professional and timely Employee Relations (ER) advice to Council’s senior management in relation to Policy Formulation, Industrial Relations, Enterprise Agreement Development and Interpretation and Conditions of Employment.
- Equal Employment Opportunity Policy development, implementation and advice.
- Effectively managing organisational HR processes including performance management and discipline processes.
- Contribute to learning within the organisation by leading the development and facilitation of corporate training programs that support understanding and implementation of human resources policy and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- A degree or diploma in HR (or related field) and extensive experience in the Employee Relations field.
- An excellent understanding of and extensive previous experience in industrial relations including consultative processes and the negotiation of enterprise agreements.
- Knowledge of Local Government including relevant awards and employment issues.
- Ability to communicate confidently with staff at all levels.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 8 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $118,548 to $132,844 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
