• $61K (pro-rata) + Super + Increased Pay with Salary Packaging

Are you a talented Consultant within the Employment Services Industry looking to impact lives in your local community?

The Role

As an Employment Consultant your focus will be on providing ongoing support to customers within the Disability Employment Services (DES) program find and maintain sustainable employment opportunities.

As part of this role, you will be comfortable to actively source job opportunities for your clients through innovative marketing techniques.

With a caseload of job seekers ready for support, you will be building and maintaining relationships with customers and assisting them address their barriers to employment using a customer focus approach; and you will be working autonomously with the support of your wider team.

You will support diverse cohort of customers, majority living with a Mental or Physical Disability ranging in complexity. 

What do you need to thrive and succeed within this role?

• Supporting participants into sustainable employment
• Brokering employment and advocating for people with a disability to potential employers of people with a disability.
• Build and maintain relationships with potential employers and community organisations
• Capacity to assess the local labour market and find suitable, sustainable employment opportunities through networking and sales strategies
• Identifying job vacancies, match suitable candidates and educate clients on interview and workplace expectations
• The desire and aptitude to work with and provide support to people living with a mental or physical disability
• Ability to identify and address customers complex barriers to employment and health management by using our internal support or researching and referring to external community networks
• Proven ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with customers, employers, internal and external stakeholders both face-to-face and over the phone.

What will you bring to the role?

• Experience in customer service, sales or a client facing role.
• Experience working towards and achieving sales targets and KPIs within a compliance driven environment
• An interest in local community supports and networks
• Highly developed planning, coordination, and time management skills, along with attention to detail
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic about making a real change in people’s lives through sustainable employment
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

• Have full rights to live and work in Australia.
• Have a Working with Children's Check in the state you are working (or willingness to get one).
• Agree for us to undertake a Criminal History Check that is returned without criminal convictions.

Highly desirable but not essential:

• A certificate or degree in employment, social work, social science, welfare, or a related discipline
• Experience in the employment industry or labour market will be very well received.
