The role...
Reporting to the Service Lead, you will:
- Work with jobseekers to uncover their interests, passions and skills. Help them build their confidence through linking to interventions as well as capacity building activities, to become job ready to apply for suitable roles
- Utilise your intermediate computer skills to complete all required elements of the role to maintain up-to-date records that meet compliance requirements for the program
- Adhere to contractual compliance processes and procedures
- Provide case management to a specified number of participants within the local cohort employment program from the DES pathways
- Seek out jobs and employment placement opportunities
- Create Job Plans and oversee participants’ personal goals and professional development
- Source vocational education and training
- Facilitate access to a range of supports and resources to address vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment
About You...
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
- Have the ability to build rapport, excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of jobseekers.
- Prepare jobseekers for work through job search support, training, work experience and other vocational activities
- Ability to work under pressure and cope with challenging situations
- Can do attitude and be able to perform in a busy and dynamic team environment
- Excellent time management, administration, computer and technology skills are essential
- Empathetic and ability to advocate for participants
- Knowledge and understanding about the local Cessnock community
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Self-motivated, driven to succeed and prepared to make a difference
- Current driver’s license
