About the Program:
The Waalitj Foundation delivers the Australian Government’s Workforce Australia program, in partnership with the Department of Employment and Workforce Relations, boosting employment prospects across Kalgoorlie.
This program model consolidates the existing Jobactive program providing enhanced services and support for people looking for work. Through this program, the Waalitj Foundation delivers a range of enhanced services including building job ready skills, training and qualification support, mentoring, networking opportunities and post-placement support.
About the Opportunity:
The Employment Mentor is responsible for working individually with participants and support networks to assist them into employment and training opportunities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build upon partnerships within the community and run programs, workshops, meetings, and provide intensive individual mentoring to participants.
The Employment Mentor will be based in our Kalgoorlie office, working alongside a team of other Mentors and reporting into the Program Manager.
This is a full-time fixed term position until June 2025.
About you:
To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate the following experience and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of mentoring support and assistance to job seekers with complex needs
- Experience in employment services
- Ability to gather data and complete reporting requirements
- Ability to navigate database or CRM systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with employers, community organisations and support services
- Ability to engage, network and maintain relationships
- Have knowledge and understanding around barriers to employment
- Ability to work within a small team and independently
- High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
- Pro-active, self-starter
Essential Requirements:
- Police clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- C Class Driver's Licence
