Electronic Medical Records (EMR) - Subject Matter Expert
Clinical Operations

Fixed Term, Full Time or Part Time – 32 to 38 hours per week

April 2024 – April 2025 (Project Work)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Subject Matter Expert (SME). Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, you will work within a highly motivated, fast paced and dynamic team that are dedicated to providing support to the organisation across a wide range of services, including but not limited to; Reviewing current processes within the EMR, auditing patient journeys through the EMR, assisting with onboarding new staff, education, change leadership and a range of other exciting opportunities that may arise. This stimulating role would suit an experienced leader who is not afraid of a challenge, are dynamic, pragmatic, a positive role model, and enjoys working within a team that is dedicated to the empowerment of our staff, upholding accountability and delivering best evidenced based care delivery to our community. The ideal candidate will be required to work a minimum of 32 hours a week.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of Sunrise the WGHG EMR
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities
  • Excellent networking skills to build rapport within the Gippsland regional health partnership
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of continuous improvement with the EMR
  • High level interpersonal and communication (oral and written), analytical, reporting and presentation skills, dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem solve complex issues, and facilitate/negotiate progress toward effective outcomes

In addition, we are seeking applicants with the following:

Mandatory:

  • Current working knowledge of Sunrise EMR.
  • Dynamic, pragmatic and a self-directed.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a public health acute service.
  • Experience in collection and presentation of data.

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The new hospital is set to feature 233-beds and 33 emergency department treatment spaces as well as aged care and an expanded maternity facility.
