About Future Energy Skills
Future Energy Skills (FES) is a not-for-profit industry led company that works in partnership with Victoria's electro-technology, electricity generation and supply, gas supply and new energy technology sectors. FES operates two business units:
Electro-technology industry support and project management unit - FES consults with industry and advises the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) on future skill demand and training needs, and, through a Project Management Office (PMO), manages a range of projects on behalf of government and other stakeholders that directly support the training and workforce development needs of the industry.
An Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) authorised Licensed Electrician Assessment (LEA) Centre - The centre provides tuition and conducts the assessments required to be completed by candidates to apply for their electrical license in Victoria.
About the role
FES are seeking the services of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who have current technical expertise in Energy Efficiency Management for residential and commercial buildings. The role is to assist FES in the development of a new course in Energy Efficiency Management for existing A grade licensed electricians.
You must have significant hands-on industry experience in the following areas:
Commercial buildings - Technical expertise in site assessments, submetering, testing and commissioning, evaluating data and making recommendations to owners or tenants.
Residential buildings – Technical expertise in conducting residential site assessments, determining electrical efficiency, and developing an electrification plan for owners of residential buildings.
Strong understanding of current government policy, regulations and legislation pertaining to improving the Energy Efficiency of homes and businesses.
Working with a course designer and will provide timely technical content and advise in the development of learning and assessment resources.
Other essential skills:
Ability to use MS Teams or Zoom for online meetings.
Competent in using MS office suite, drop box and email in preparing and/or reviewing and sharing written content.
Excellent communication and time management skills
Attendance is at a mutually agreed time during business hours and duties can be carried out face to face or online. You must be available 3-6 hours every week for 12-14-weeks continuously, commencing mid-February 2024.
