It is a six month contract from 5 August 2024, at 0.4 EFT (Tuesdays and Wednesdays). This is exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take on some, or all, of the Fellow's clinical duties. The successful candidate of this backfill role will play a key role in clinical areas, both via direct hands-on management and in a supervisory role for junior medical and other clinical staff.The incumbent will usually have 3-4 outpatient clinics per week, and will also cover inpatient and supervisory duties for the full-time Endocrinology Clinical Fellow when the latter is absent. Clinics include endocrinology, diabetes, bone health and a YADS clinic at RMH. The role-holder will contribute to out-of-hours departmental on-call duties (inpatients and consults). The incumbent will have the opportunity to access regular education and teaching, both formal and informal.Key accountabilities
- Provide first-class medical care for children and families affected by paediatric endocrine disorders.
- Provide adequate supervision for junior medical staff rotating through the unit.
- Provide liaison consulting for other internal and external services and specialties.
- Communicate well with senior colleagues, administrative and allied health team members, peers and junior staff and work cohesively within the team.
- Work in a respectful and self-accountable manner, consistent with the culture of the organisation.
- Positively represent the Department in local, national +/- international fora.
