Engaging Infrastructure Procurement Specialist

$110ph to $140ph + Super - based on experience

Location: Canberra, ACT
Engagement: Our client is offering a 12-month Labour Hire Hourly Rate contract + 2 x 12-month extension options

Eligibility: Applicants must have a current security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1, or ability to obtain it.
You must be an Australian citizen to work for the Federal Government of Australia.

Your new company 
Join the Pacific Security Engagement (PES) section within this Federal Government Agency. PES leads whole-of-government engagement on Pacific security assistance requests and supports the development and implementation of bilateral security agreements. 

Your new role 
As the Engaging Infrastructure Procurement Specialist, you will specialise in Infrastructure Procurement, contract management, and project delivery. 
Your key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing infrastructure-specific procurement and funding pathways.
• Establishing and managing contracts and budgets.
• Reporting on project progress.

What you'll need to succeed 

Experience: Minimum 5 years of managing Australian government infrastructure programs and projects.

Procurement Skills: Proficiency in managing procurement services within an agile operational environment, including knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and PGPA requirements.

Project Management: Ability to oversee different phases of infrastructure projects.

Budget Management: Track budget expenditure, manage contracts/agreements, and complete budget reporting.

Self-Motivation: Drive to enhance existing methods and implement new processes.

Risk Awareness: Understanding of risks and opportunities associated with delivering infrastructure projects.

Team Collaboration: Contribute to team output and foster effective working relationships.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, liaison skills, and stakeholder management.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working in/with Pacific nations.
• Experience of delivering aid or defense-related infrastructure projects

Key Duties

• Gain a working knowledge of program policy objectives and ensure their representation in infrastructure-related project plans, procurement, and contract documentation.
• Maintain, review, and update procurement and budget decisions related to the infrastructure component.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on project plans and procurement processes.
• Identify and propose solutions to gaps in policies and templates.
• Implement changes to improve procurement efficiency.
• Liaise with a wide network of stakeholders to deliver infrastructure investments.
• Coordinate shared tasks with other team members.
