About the roleEnersol seeks an Assembly Technicianwith experience in mechanical or electrical engineering workshops or both.
The assembly work is mainly mechanical but may also involve ultra-low voltage electrical work.
Workshop and handy-person skills are needed, including drilling, cutting, filing and gluing skills for metals, plastics, MDF, wood, etc - while keeping the equipment components as scratch-free as possible. If you have a suitable skill set, there may be some electronics assembly.
The successful candidate for this role will report to the Equipment and Servicing Manager. The role is part of a small team that design and assemble Enersol's products.

Skills and experienceThis position will suit a person with Certificate III or IV in Engineering or similar.
The ideal candidate will have the following abilities and skills:
- Use hand and power tools.
- Safety awareness.
- Follow verbal and written directions.
- Read and interpret drawings for assembly.
- Work to deadlines and also change priorities when directed.
- Very good to excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- A strong eye for detail and confidence in your assembly abilities.
- Work unsupervised, and report on progress.
- Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken.
- Perform quality checks of equipment at various stages of assembly.
- Good to intermediate computing knowledge with Microsoft 365 products and other apps.
- Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing is desirable.
- Familiarity with CAD software is desirable.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Previous exposure to undertaking basic assembly and repair work.
- Previous experience in a small-to-medium Australian workshop environment.
- Previous mechanical assembly experience with a solid mechanical aptitude.
Experience with electrical assembly and understanding of basic electrical circuits is an advantage.
Assembly and technical experience is required, and at least 2 or more years of in a similar position is preferred. Those with more experience are encouraged to apply, including anyone further into their workshop career or semi-retired.

Pay and hoursThis position is on-site and working similar hours to other staff in the team (some currently start around 730-830 am, and others start 9-930 am). The pay for this position is based on casual rates and experience but is broadly in line with the Manufacturing and Associated Industries Modern Award.
