Engineering & Design Manager

Due to continued expansion and growth a newly created opportunity exists for an experienced Engineering & Design Manager in our Pacific Energy Connected (PEC) division. In addition to expanding the existing remote and renewable power solutions, PEC is one of Australia’s leading turnkey delivery partners for green hydrogen production and refueling facilities, with unmatched experience delivering end-to-end hydrogen ecosystems and specialised equipment and is on a rapid growth trajectory.
 
The Engineering & Design Manager will be accountable for growing the Engineering and Design team and its day-to-day operations. They are responsible for project engineering and design outcomes, project planning, project management and people management.
 
This role would be ideal for someone with a passion for leadership, continuous improvement, and planning. The successful candidate will engage, lead and mentor a team of engineers and collaborate, liaise, and align with their engineering and design management peers across the organisation.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Directing the formulation of engineering strategies, policies, and plans.
• Overseeing design processes and maintaining engineering standards.
• Proposing and managing budgets and schedules for projects.
• Provide consultation and advice on engineering methods and procedures.
• Analyse and improve engineering processes.
• Support upcoming tender responses.

About You:

• Tertiary qualification with experience in leading an engineering function.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering background is preferred.
• Experience in renewable related industries would be advantageous.
• Highly developed people and time management skills.
• Proven excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Problem solving mindset, fairness, objectivity, self-initiating and deadline driven.
• Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to delivery, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
