Engineering Lead needed to drive Continual Improvement, R&D and Engineering Excellence
Your new company
Our client is a successful Australian-owned company which has been operating for more than two decades. They provide engineering and manufacturing expertise to provide the market with a wide range of high-quality conveyor fittings and polyurethane components.
They are looking for an Engineering Lead, who, through effective mentoring and leadership, will guide the team towards enhancing performance and fostering innovation while continuously improving operational processes to contribute to the organisation's long-term success and sustainability.
Your new role
In this pivotal role, your responsibilities will be, but not limited to;
- Lead the engineering team, providing guidance, training, and support
- Drive innovation and R&D outcomes to grow and expand the business' offerings
- Able to build and deploy Engineering Systems
- Oversee product improvements and investigation of design flaws
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of engineering activities in accordance with established specifications and timelines
- Conduct thorough technical reviews of engineering design data and outputs to ensure quality and accuracy
- Mentor and Manage Engineers within your team
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Develop and communicate a clear engineering strategic plan that is in alignment with the divisional strategic plan
- Undertake capacity planning ensuring the engineering group can meet future demand
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure engineering outputs meet specified standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 7 years holding a Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience in conveyor and bulk handling equipment design
- 5 years + experience in leading and managing engineering teams
- Advanced proficiency in AutoDESK Inventor, MS Office and ERP software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Experience with, and a commitment to, leading continual improvement initiatives
- The ability to travel interstate from time to time
