Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment for tradespersons and operators (Safety).
- Ensure compliance with site operational and maintenance requirements related to the environment.
- Monitor and report on equipment performance and maintenance-related downtime in Plant Operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance and engineering control systems suitable for plant operations.
- Monitor daily plant maintenance activities to ensure priorities are identified and met.
- Provide guidance to the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisors, and production staff in maintenance work planning.
- Ensure maintenance manning levels meet plant requirements.
- Represent maintenance in meetings and oversee all maintenance-related activities and requirements.
- Develop and implement effective equipment maintenance strategies to ensure plant reliability.
- Take a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime and implement engineering solutions to eliminate those causes.
- Proactively analyze production and maintenance information to identify weaknesses in equipment and maintenance policies, eliminating repetitive breakdowns.
Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Maintenance management qualifications will be advantageous.
- Supervision and maintenance experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff.
- Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures.
- Experience in estimating, tendering, and supervising subcontractors.
