The Role
Our client is seeking Senior Electrical Engineer’s across a variety of Engineering sector’s, including:
- RPEQ Certified (Highly Preferred)
- Senior Control Engineer’s
- Electrical Power Systems Engineer’s
- Senior Electrical Engineer’s
Role Duties include:
- Performing Electrical investigations, analysis, feasibility studies, design, documentation, testing and commissioning for industrial, utility and government clients.
- Liaison with clients and completing site visits to gather data, inspect construction or manufacturing progress, performing commissioning tasks.
- Undertake electrical engineering investigations, designs and calculations; prepare engineering documentation; apply sound engineering practices to achieve the objectives of quality, schedule and budgeted man-hours.
- Accept responsibility directly, or through delegation, for the accuracy and quality of electrical systems design and documentation undertaken directly and for that performed by assigned project engineering and drafting staff. This will include RPEQ supervision and sign-off responsibilities in accordance with Qld Legislation.
- Completion of detailed proposals, fee estimates and quotations.
- Supervision of Junior Engineers and directing as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
- RPEQ Certified (Highly Preferred)
- 10 years experience within Electrical Engineering
- A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or recognised overseas equivalent is essential. Equivalent recognised degrees must provide eligibility for Chartered Engineer status from the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- High levels of technical experience and Project Management skills
- Professional presence and high levels of Written and Verbal communication skills
- Ability to pass Pre-Employment Medicals and wear PPE as required.
- Standard Queensland Open-class Motor Vehicle License
- Sufficient industry experience to be eligible for corporate membership of The Institution of Engineers, Australia, achieving CPEng status and NPER-3.
Individuals must be able to demonstrate proven hands-on experience in the following:
- Technical/practical skills in most of the following areas:
- Low voltage and medium voltage motor control and protection
- Industrial power distribution and reticulation, up to 33kV
- Earthing system design
- Analysis of Power Systems - Fault studies, Load Flows, Protection coordination, Motor Starting transients
- Design and specification of MCC's, Switchboards, VFD's, Soft Starters
- PLC Control systems – design and programming
- Process Instrumentation - selection and application of instruments
- On-site commissioning
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
- Proven design capability in an industrial environment
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated by the preparation of well-structured technical reports and specifications.
- Current working knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes.
- Demonstrated project management capability.
- Oral communication skills, especially with clients and subordinate staff.
- High level of computer literacy (e.g. Spreadsheets, scheduling, word processing, e-mail)
- Estimating (capital costs and engineering man-hours)
