Overview
We are currently recruiting a National Track Engineering Manager for a leading manufacturer of trackwork and rail equipment solutions.
A background in track design, paired with on-site delivery is required for the role. This could be someone who has moved from a design house to a major contractor / operator. Hands-on site experience is key, as you will need to have a deep understanding of client requirements. The Manufacturing/Production aspects of the position can be learnt on the job and therefore not an immediate requirement.
Location- Sydney, NSW
Duration- Permanent
Salary- $200,000 - $250,000 + Bonus
Responsibilities
- Work closely with client / rail operators in both heavy haul and passenger rail sectors to understand their requirements and any track performance issues.
- Display technical knowledge of track infrastructure design e.g. turnouts, crossovers.
- Implementing design changes / modifications to improve track performance
- Act as the primary engineering interface to the customer and interface between Design/Product Engineering teams
- Focus on Continuous improvement to improve the productivity for all assemblies and individual components.
- Managing business unit costs and budgets
- Provide assistance for business development, tendering for track business, including estimating and client interface
Required Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering or similar
- 10+ years rail track sector experience paired with knowledge of turnout design
- On-site delivery experience within the rail track domain – heavy haul / mining or passenger rail
- Knowledge of Rail Safety law and WHS requirements
