The Vector system has been designed for Motor Control and Power Distribution switchboards. Unlike overseas manufactured modular switchboard systems the Vector product has been designed and tested in Australia, by Australians and specifically for the Australian market. We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technologist who can support in design and development activities throughout the manufacturing process.
THE POSITION
- Design and develop detailed drawings using drawings using Auto CAD, Solidworks and other design tools.
- Engage with engineers, technicians, and other professionals’ team to understand project requirements and design procedures and contribute to the progress to ensure that projects progress smoothly and meet their objectives.
- Thoroughly conduct test on working equipment, materials, protection gear to ensure that safety standards and working standards are met.
- Interact effectively with other professionals and stakeholders, to ensure that technology outcomes and developments fully integrate with the overall system and context.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, BOMs, and technical reports.
- Assist in identifying and solving technical problems that arise during the custom switchboards design, production, or operation of systems or products. Apply technical knowledge to find practical solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes, efficiency, and quality.
- Successfully applied both technical and customer service skills to answer client’s inquiries regarding technical issues during projects implementation.
- Identify potential areas for technological advancement and propose solutions to enhance product performance and user experience.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in the relevant field (Engineering or Technology)
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in switchboard manufacturing industry.
- Experience with producing technical documents, such as functional and technical specifications, process drawings, electrical and mechanical layouts, and details.
- Proven experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Revit.
