1. Work closely with mechanical engineers to develop detailed designs for chassis and chassis components using computer-aided design (CAD) software and ensuring integration of electrical, mechanical and safety components.
2. Translate conceptual and complex designs into technical drawings and specifications, considering factors such as structural integrity, material selection, weight distribution, and manufacturing feasibility, while accommodating customization as per client specifications.
3. Assist in building prototypes of chassis systems or components for testing and validation purposes by conducting performance tests, structural analysis, and simulation studies to evaluate the design's strength, stability, and performance under various operating conditions.
4. Research and select appropriate materials for chassis construction, considering factors such as strength, durability, weight, and cost and perform material testing to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards in collaboration with the production engineer.
5. Establish quality assurance processes to ensure that chassis components meet design specifications performance requirements and regulatory standards by applying quality control checks.
6. Involve in research and development projects, exploring new technologies, materials, or processes to improve existing products or develop new ones.
7. Continually seek ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency without compromising quality by proposing innovative techniques, tooling, or automation solutions and enhancing the overall competitiveness of chassis production.
