Enrolled Nurse Advance Skill

The Geriatric and Rehabilitation Unit are looking for several Enrolled Nurses to join their team. The Geriatric and Rehabilitation Unit (GARU) at Princess Alexandra Hospital is one of the largest of its kind in Queensland. Cassia Place is a 26-bed inpatient ward within GARU. We are working within a patient centered, interdisciplinary team approach. Cassia Place actively embraces and incorporates evidenced based nursing practices with innovative models of care aimed at improving quality outcomes for its specific client population.

About the Role

The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skills (ENAS) practices under predominantly indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN); utilising advanced clinical skills to provide evidence-based person-centred care within Cassia Place. The ENAS applies their depth of knowledge, experience, and competence to effectively develop, provide and evaluate patient care, with regular communication and/or assistance from the RN. The ENAS practices at an advanced level, utilising clinical and leadership skills to provide high-quality person-centred care and optimise patient outcomes.

• Demonstrate an advanced depth of knowledge, skills, experience, and competence in gerontological nursing care and effectively integrates theory into informed clinical practice.

• Utilise knowledge and skills within scope of practice to plan nursing/midwifery care as delegated by the RN, communicating progress, and documenting accurately.

• Assist in reviewing and evaluating Cassia Place's nursing standards and guidelines and may co-lead a nursing/quality portfolio.
• Demonstrate a commitment to increase knowledge, skills and competencies through contributing to quality healthcare and educating and supporting less experienced staff through lifelong learning and professional development of self and others.
