Due to expansive growth, QHACS (Queensland Health Academy’s Care Service) is looking for motivated Enrolled Nursesand Registered Nurses to provide holistic and person-centred community nursing care and support to our clients.
The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe and effective nursing care, supervising our support staff, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
The Registered Nurse provides complex care and supervision to ENs providing nursing care, ensuring care plans meet client needs.
Support clients with complex medical needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the development, modification, and evaluation of care plans
- Administration of medications
- IMI and Sub cut injections
- Ventilation and tracheostomy care
- Able to administer insulin using sliding scale
- Attending to wound dressings
- Attending to catheter management
- Visiting client homes to provide nursing care
- Work a Rotating Roster
- Complete comprehensive progress notes
- Liaise with GPs, care coordinators, and allied health
- Provide direction and supervision to support workers
- Attend to medical emergencies and provide first aid as required
- Deescalate and provide mental health support if required

Essential requirements (selection criteria):
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse/Registered Nurse with no restrictions
- Diploma of Nursing (ENs)
- Bachelor of Nursing (RNs)
- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in aged care, disability, mental health, community or acute care*
- Willingness to work predominantly night duty
- First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to acquire)
- National Police Check (or willingness to acquire)
- Worker Screening check (or willingness to acquire)
- Ability to work within indirect supervision
- Proven technological, communication and time management skills
- A passion for providing quality care
- Strong administration and organisational skills
