Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) Division of Surgical Specialties & Anaesthetics provides services to Lyell McEwin Hospital (tertiary site with links to the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia & Flinders university) and Modbury Hospital (teaching site).

About You:

About the Role:

As an Enrolled Nurse you will support the Registered Nurse in the provision of person-centred care consistent with regulatory and statutory requirements. Practice at this level is from novice to proficient Enrolled Nurse practice. In this role you will work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, however at all times you will retain responsibility for your actions and remain accountable in providing nursing care.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Demonstrating knowledge and skill in assessment, care and routine procedures for area of practice;
  • Making decisions and taking initiative to plan and complete nursing care tasks within your scope of practice under the direction of a registered nurse; and
  • Engaging with patients/clients to provide person centred care.
To be eligible for this position, you will be registered or eligible for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. In order to administer medicines, you must have completed a Board-approved program of study which includes an administration of medicines unit.

In addition to the mandatory vaccination requirements for all SA Health roles under this Policy SA Health workers must also comply with any vaccination requirements imposed under legislation (including any directions under the Emergency Management Act 2004 or the South Australian Public Health Act 2011) and any mandatory vaccination requirements under the terms and conditions of employment of employees.
