Where you'll be working:
Warada is a 28 bed medical ward for Respiratory and Gastroenterology specialities. The acuity of the patients is diverse across these specialities and includes patients who require invasive diagnostic procedures, non-invasive ventilation therapy, high flow oxygen therapy and tracheostomy management. The nursing team is supported by a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Educator and the Nurse Unit Manager. Our nursing team vision is to provide quality patient care by staff who work effectively as a team in a supportive and safe environment.

The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of The Sutherland Hospital consistent with SESLHD and The Sutherland Hospital policies, procedures and standards.
The Enrolled Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, and assists in the provision of nursing care. Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse/Midwife for delegated functions.

The Sutherland Hospital is a 375-bed, major metropolitan hospital and an associated teaching hospital of the University of NSW, which is part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and is located in Caringbah, a southern suburb of Sydney. Established in 1958, The Sutherland Hospital campus offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and community services to around 226,000 residents of the Sutherland Shire, colloquially known as ‘The Shire’
A $62.9 million redevelopment has delivered a new and expanded emergency department, 60 new acute inpatient beds, and storage space for theatres to improve efficiencies. Current refurbishment works to provide an expanded medical imaging service are in progress.
The hospital campus is close to some of Sydney’s great beaches, restaurants, bars and cafes at Cronulla and is close to the beautiful Royal National Park. Gymea is another lively suburb with many restaurants and cafes. At Miranda, just a short walk away from the hospital, there is a Westfield Shopping Centre and cinema complex.

The ideal candidate will have: * Current unrestricted registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
- Supports working in a person centred environment.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
- Demonstrated recent post registration experience in an acute care setting.
