TMS ACT is expanding rapidly and we are looking to add to our team. We are looking for a either an Enrolled Nurse or level 1 Registered Nurse to work as a TMS Technicianand Mental Health Nurse in our clinic in Woden. We are offering a casual position with the option to transition to part time employment. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS or rTMS) is a therapeutic, well tolerated and safe medical treatment for the treatment of depression and a range of other psychiatric disorders. The treatment is a simple 20 - 40 minute procedure that is generally undertaken 5 days per week for 7 weeks before reducing to a maintenance plan.
We have recently started offering Esketamine for the treatment of Treatment Resistant Depression in addition to our TMS service, which is administered by our Registered Nurses.
TMS ACT is owned and operated by Consultant Psychiatrists Dr John Saboisky, who has worked in Canberra since 1983 and Dr May Matias who has a private practice in North Lyneham and specialises in treating veterans.
We aim to deliver the highest level of service to our patients and are looking for a nurse who can not only provide treatment but is able to offer it in a caring, efficient and friendly manner.
Key duties and responsibilities
Administer TMS
Administer Esketamine (RN)
Monitor patients undergoing Esketamine treatment
Administer and score depression rating scales
Maintain clinical notes
Liaise with other clinical staff and participate in case reviews
Essential Requirements
Must hold current Enrolled or Registered Nurse AHPRA registration
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working with patients with complex psychiatric presentations would be an advantage
Attention to detail
Ability to learn new software programs
Able to work in both a team environment and independently
Time management skills
Proactive
Mature attitude
Caring and attentive manner
Up to date COVID 19 vaccination status
Must be available to work a minimum of 2 weekdays including Fridays
