About the role
In this role, you will support building capability and effective management of Enterprise Risks and business continuity.

Work type: Permanent, full-time
Classification: Band 8 ($115,035 - $129,911 pa plus super)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the maintenance, enhancement and strategic execution of Enterprise Risk, business continuity and fraud and corruption control framework.
  • Supporting the first line of defense by providing advice and support to build capability and embed effective risk management practices across all part of the business.
  • Providing the second line of defense oversight with the ability to integrate with other key frameworks, this includes delivering assurance and reporting of the City’s risk profile to the City’s Executive and key governance bodies.
  • As a Business Partner, providing subject matter expertise, challenging stakeholders to consider decisions through a risk and compliance lens. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their business and adapt as required to ensure the Integrity & Risk department systems are valued contributors to business outcomes.
  • Promoting a risk aware culture, through the development and delivery of communication and engagement activities including coaching, training, and workshop facilitation.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have highly developed analytical skills with demonstrated experience in assessing and developing risk and continuity system maturity, including the provision of guidance and coaching.

Essential Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a discipline related to risk or relevant specialist certification, together with extensive experience working in a governance role or lesser formal qualification with extensive experience in the field.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with demonstrated ability to foster highly qualitative and engaging business relationships.
  • Several years demonstrated experience in governance functions related to risk, audit, internal controls environments using contemporary methodology and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and priorities in a varied operational environment, regulated and undertaking key transformations.
  • Experience with risk management and business continuity software would be beneficial, although not essential.
