Enthusiastic Diesel Fitter / Heavy Road Transport Mechanic

• Permanent position with generous package of $120-135k per annum (including super, commuter use of vehicle, call out, field work and overtime - based on experience)

About the role:

We are looking for a high-achieving and experienced Diesel Fitter / Service Mechanic to work in our Maryborough Workshop. Work includes servicing, maintenance and general repairs to earthmoving equipment, heavy and light vehicles, agricultural equipment and various small plant and engines. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Diesel Fitter / Service Mechanic who is a self-starter with excellent time and priority management to work on our busy workshop.

To be successful in this role you need:

• A good knowledge of servicing, maintaining and repairing Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Mack and European engines up to 20 years old.
• Ability to prioritise, plan, resource and complete complex tasks with limited supervision or instruction.
• Demonstrate initiative and flexibility with regards to hours, resourcing, fleet requirements and work locations.
• Exhibit an ability to diagnose and investigate faults autonomously and remotely.
• Remain conscientious and take pride in their work, appearance, surrounds and position and ensure that these values are maintained by all subordinates.
• Maintain, promote and improve our high Safety & Environmental standards - always.
• Coordinate and oversee service and repair records for JACC’s fleet management system.
• Have the literacy and computer skills to maintain and understand our fleet management and workshop systems.
• Hold the communication skills needed to engage suppliers, operators, managers, colleagues and others via direct conversation, telephone or email as required to fulfil the role.
• Possess computer skills required for using other diagnostic and basic Microsoft programs.
• Be an instigator as well as a willing participant and contributor in all team meetings and training activities and in developing JSA’s, etc.
• Collaborate with supervisors to ensure timely and efficient allocation of time and resources to meet the company's objectives and priorities.
• Proactively maintain an efficient and safe workshop and associated work processes.
• Demonstrate experience as a Diesel or in Leading hand role.
• Hold a Mechanical trade qualification i.e., Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic, other.
• Hold a current Queensland Drivers License.
• Hold or be eligible to hold a current QLD Blue/White Card – Construction.
• Value their team and be a team player.
• Be versed in Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Be willing to up-skill and participate in all training as required.

Terms:

Competitive remuneration and negotiable terms, wage range may be negotiable for exceptional applicants. Packages tailored to applicants’ skill level. The position is permanent full time and subject to a 3 month probation period.
