This role is ideally suited to those that are looking to commence an exciting and rewarding career in the Oil and Gas industry that includes gaining qualifications and the ability to progress within the organisation and the Australian operations. This position is primarily a rig labourer's job. However, it calls for an ability to learn and perform manual skills and develop a working knowledge of safe drilling operations. Tasks include tubular handling, basic rigging and general rig maintenance under the supervision of the rig crew.
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Assist Crew with maintenance of rig equipment and tubulars as directed
- Maintain areas of responsibility in clean, tidy and safe condition
- Assist in movement of equipment about the rig and between the rig and transport loads
- Assist the drilling crew as directed in measurement, labelling and recording detail of casing and drill pipe
- Assist drill crew as directed in rigging up, rigging down and running of blow out prevention (BOP) stack
- Perform relieving duties on the drill floor as required
- Report any unsafe condition or practice at once to a Superior
- Have a working knowledge of basic knots, splices, wire line sling handling and general rigging practices

Education and Experience
- Unrestricted manual drivers license (Essential)
- Trade back ground/heavy manual labouring experience
- Previous Mining / Oil & Gas experience
- Previous experience in either Labourer or Manual Handling type roles
- Experience working away from home in remote locations
- Working in extreme climatic conditions
Physical Requirements
