About the Role:
The Land, Approvals & Environment (LAE) team supports the Integrated Energy organization to achieve, meet and deliver upon regulatory requirements around land access, environmental and planning approvals and environmental management across all developments.
As the Environment Manager – Renewable Projects, you will be responsible for providing technical direction into all aspects of project development and construction, including concept designs, environmental impact assessments, EPBC referrals, construction environmental management and contractor management and contracts.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide technical environmental support throughout project development and construction
- Contribute to project teams and support successful outcomes
- Advise on key environmental approvals and compliance tasks
- Coordinate specialist consultants or contractors for environmental matters
- Site based compliance, assurance and inspections
- Influencing a positive environmental culture internally and externally
About You:
You will be an experienced Environmental specialist with a good understanding of the relevant legislation and best practice procedures across Australia, but most importantly you will have the ability to influence consistent and positive behaviours around all environmental matters from project origination through to hand over to operations.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or similar
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in environmental management within a construction or heavy industrial environment
- A strong understanding of compliance, risk and approvals
- Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Confidence to speak up
- Ability to work across disciplines with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced attention to detail
