The Environmental Business Manager role is key to achieving our goals and will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental policies and programs. You will provide quality solutions and strategies to our meet and exceed our customers’ requirements.
Responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of various crews allocated to vegetation and restoration works. You will also manage the Townsville City Council, Reef Assist Partnership Program and associated work packages to ensure quality outcomes are achieved for Ausfield Services and TCC.
Specific duties will involve using your well-developed interpersonal skills, subject matter knowledge and leadership skills to ensure;
- Crews under your leadership are organised, prepared and ready to mobilise each morning;
- Have the appropriate equipment, machinery and consumables ready for each task/project;
- Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is in stock and available to your crews;
- Liaise with the Contract Manager on a regular (weekly) basis to ensure appropriate machinery, equipment and staffing are allocated to your projects;
- Arrange hire of appropriate/specialised equipment and machinery when needed to ensure jobs are delivered on time;
- Develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects/work packages are delivered safely, timely and in accordance with scope;
- Conduct regular inspection of your designated work sites to ensure compliance and to minimise hazards;
- Develop and implement strategies for minimising environmental impacts from projects/work packages;
- Complete necessary applications for required licences, permits, new customer accounts, and access approvals when needed;
- Provide prompt and timely resolution to client issues or concerns;
- Completion of all reporting and documentation to appropriate standards as required in preparation for presentation to our customers and key stakeholders.
What else do I need?
- 2+ years of experience in an environmental field or related field will be highly regarded.
- a Construction White Card while working on any of our sites, workplaces and estates.
- a current unrestricted open driver’s licence (manual prefered but auto is acceptable)
- You will need to complete and pass the Ausfield Services Induction (online based system) prior to starting work.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement environmental programs and solutions.
- Proven leadership and project management skills with solid communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to manage budgets.
- Proven problem-solving abilities with the ability to implement solutions and or mitigation strategies.
- Applicants who also hold a valid Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control (ACDC) licence, Chainsaw and or Pole saw ticket will be highly acknowledged.
Ausfield Services operates under a certified Integrated Management System, inclusive of Quality Management (9001:2015), Occupational Health and Safety (45001:2018) and Environmental (14001:2015) Management Systems. The Environmental Business Manager will be required to support these systems and operate within the required framework.
The position is salary dependent on qualifications and experience in this area. Salary range is $80K - $85k. Work vehicle, laptop, mobile and office is provided as part of the package.
