Our Sydney office is seeking a motivated Environmental Consultant with 5 - 12 years’ experience to join the Contaminated Land team.
About the role
JBS&G is looking for an Environmental Consultant to join our Contaminated Land team in Sydney. You will be part of a dynamic team that works collaboratively with clients across a range of projects both nationally and locally. A sound understanding of NSW and national environmental legislation will be critical. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of Australia’s leading environmental and Contaminated Land professionals.
Our team are fast, capable, experts in all aspects of environmental consulting, from assessment and remediation, completing onsite assessment programs, environmental impact assessment, managing specialist sub-consultants, working with stakeholders and government regulators and providing high-quality outcomes for our clients. JBS&G will provide you with the tools to enable career development, with long standing client relationships, interesting projects, collaboration and idea generation across all sectors and service streams.
About you
The successful candidate will:
• Hold a relevant degree in environmental science or engineering preferably with a sound understanding of earth sciences, specifically hydrogeology, geology or chemistry
• Be a self-starter, a natural leader, problem solver, strategic thinker and a team player
• Experience in Contaminated Land assessment and remediation
• Good fieldwork abilities including capability to undertake field tasks as required (soil, groundwater, ground gas sampling and maintenance of remediation infrastructure) under minimal supervision
• Experience working with remediation systems will be advantageous
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comply with all statutory and company HSSE policies, standards and procedures, and instigate and follow safe work practices
• A current construction industry White Card would be beneficial
• Ability and willingness to travel if required
• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.
