The Environment Policy Officer advises on mapping and data for informed decision-making, handles correspondence, conducts spatial analysis, and supports policy meetings. Challenges include prioritizing data requests and effective stakeholder communication. Preferred candidates have Environmental Policy and planning system experience, plus proficiency in Excel and GIS software.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide assistance in the development of timely and accurate mapping and data management advice to ensure effective informed and evidence-based decision making across the Branch.
- Review and prepare correspondence around data and mapping requests documents to respond to community, Executive and Ministerial requests for information.

- Undertake or support spatial analysis to identify emerging issues, support options analysis and develop recommendations.
- Support meetings on policy and project status and development.
- Support all aspects of data program management.
- Has Environmental Policy experience or exposure.
- Has planning system experience or exposure.
- Government experience is preferred but not essential.
- Has IT Capacity; particular with Excel and geographic information systems (GIS) or spatial software experience / certificate.
