About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a passionate and proactive Environmental Health Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in coordinating and implementing Environmental Health programs and initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and advocating for policies that protect public health and the environment.
What you need to be successful:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or equivalent
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate, negotiate and resolve conflict with a wide range of stakeholders; and establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal customers across all levels of Council.
- Experienced in the investigation, monitoring, and inspection of premises to ensure compliance with health and environmental standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children’s Check NS
- National Police Check
- Pre-employment Medical
Desirable
- Certificate III in Local Government
- Knowledge of waste management practices and compliance requirements
- Experience in CM9 or similar record keeping software
- Understanding of Local Government processes
