Unit: Environmental Health
Division: Connected CityLocation: Town Hall Employment status: 2 positions available:

  1. Temporary Full-time (12 Months Parental Leave cover)
  2. Permanent Part-time (22 hours per week) 

Classification: Municipal Officer Level 4AAgreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2021Salary range: $95,251 per annum + 12.5% superannuation. 

About the role

This role aims to protect and improve public and Environmental Health by delivering and enforcing the statutory food, public and Environmental Health risk and evidence-based programs, to ensure Council meets its responsibilities under legislation to provide the community with a health supportive urban environment. 

Role accountabilities include:

  • Completing complex investigations of public and Environmental Health threats
  • Undertake inspections
  • Provide accurate and specialised advice
  • Issue lawful approvals and notices
About you

The desired applicant will have a Degree in Science or equivalent qualifications with demonstrated and broad experience & expertise in public & Environmental Health, as well as a comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated application of all current public and Environmental Health legislation, guidelines and Australian Standards.
