About the role:
Meander Valley Council are seeking an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to join our dedicated Environmental Health team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified EHO looking to further their professional knowledge and experience. A cadetship or graduate position can be considered for a student studying towards an Environmental Health qualification.
As a regional Council, the range of work you will undertake in the Meander Valley will be varied across a range of functions to ensure Environmental Health requirements are met under the relevant legislation. These functions include food business and public health risk activity regulation, water quality monitoring, coordination of immunisation programs, assessment of mass outdoor public events such as Agfest, Deloraine Craft Fair and annual music festivals, private burial and exhumations approvals, assessment of onsite wastewater designs (including dairy wastewater management), nuisance regulation, customer service across all environment health functions and providing Environmental Health advice regarding planning and development applications.
You will have a qualification in Environmental Health (or working towards attaining such) sufficient to satisfy appointment as an Authorised Officer under the Food Act 2003 and Public Health Act 1997. (View: EHA Accredited Courses).
This position is offered on a permanent full time basis (a part time arrangement would also be considered). Annual salary will be negotiated subject to applicant’s qualification, skills, and experience up to $85,539 (pro-rata for part time), Plus 14.5% Superannuation, in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
