Galt Environmental is a consultancy providing professional services to clients in the areas of land development, mining and infrastructure. We are based in Osborne Park and work in Western Australia (both in the Perth metro area and in regional areas) as well as overseas. We also have an geotechnical engineering arm, Galt Geotechnics, and we work to integrate environmental and geotechnical aspects of projects wherever possible.
We have an innovative and informal can-do culture and we are looking for similarly minded, highly motivated scientists and engineers to join our company. The experience levels nominated below are only a guide and we are interested in CVs from anyone who meets the job description specified.
You need to have
- excellent communication skills (both verbal and written English)
- a strong grasp of the use of computers (Windows based systems)
- a positive, proactive attitude to tackle a wide variety of projects
- be willing to continue learning and be committed to professional development
- show a very high level of attention to detail in all aspects of your work
We expect the positions to be full time, however consideration can be given to alternative arrangements.
Salary will be commensurate with your level of experience and we have attractive remuneration packages.
Galt is a growing team and we are planning both a service offering and geographic expansion. We would like new staff to join us in our transition and we will have new opportunities available for staff to grow as we progress.
The role is intended to be full time, however we are happy to look at part time, working from home and/or flexible working arrangements that are family-friendly and take into account work-life balance. A number of Galt staff work either part time or flexible hours and we have good systems for working from home.
As a demonstration of your attention to detail, please do not apply through the seek portal but forward your current CV to us at *****@galtenv.com.au with a brief cover outlining why you think you should be considered for the role.
Experience Level
You may be a university qualified environmental or marine scientist. You may have previously worked in an environmental background (consultancy experience preferred). You will have an understanding of environmental site investigation, management and remediation and a willingness to expand that knowledge.
The following are highly desirable for potential applicants:
- Demonstrated field skills related to soil logging, water quality monitoring, gas sampling, asbestos identification, and acid sulfate soils
- Ability to process and interpret contaminated sites data against relevant guidelines
- Ability to work with contractors and other specialist disciplines to provide pragmatic solutions
- Proven project management and report writing skills
You will be working under the guidance and assisting the senior staff at Galt on our project work. For those with more experience, you may be managing your own clients and projects. This will involve a variety of projects in metropolitan Perth, the Pilbara and elsewhere in WA. You will be expected to work outside of Perth (generally in regional WA) from time to time, although typically no on roster work. Our project work outside the Perth area typically lasts for between a day and a week, with occasional longer term projects.
We expect that as you develop, you will start taking on your own work and executing it with our guidance. We have an expectation that all our employees will continue to develop and we will provide both internal training and external training in areas that interest you.
