Our Journey
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. We are looking for an Environmental Services Assistant to join the team at the Kingston Centre on an ongoing part-time basis.
Environmental Services Assistant – Kingston Centre
Monday to Friday 5.30pm to 11.00pm
(50 hours per week)
A Day in the Life
The Environmental Services Assistant position will be required to work in the Kingston Hospital precinct with the ideal candidate having a strong focus on customer service. The main responsibility and accountability is cleaning task outcomes and some patient transport services, working within the established procedures in non-clinical areas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Environmental cleaning
- Bathroom and toilet cleaning
- Patient Transport
- Patient bus driving
- Cleaning in specialised areas
- Glass cleaning
- Cleaning equipment operation
- Waste removal and linen transport
- Internal and external detailed cleaning
- Project and unscheduled ad-hoc cleaning
About You:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Holds a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Able to work unsupervised but take direction
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
What you need:
- Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (Desirable)
- Previous experience cleaning in a healthcare environment (Desirable)
- An understanding of infection control cleaning processes within a healthcare environment
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service and cleaning in a healthcare environment
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
